|  | We are just 2km from the small town of Beaufort en Vallée which has a supermarket, fuel station, post office, cyber cafe, tourist information office plus a variety of retail shops, bars and a restaurant.
Walking and cycling are popular pastimes here and the area is great for this as it's fairly flat, so you don't need to be super fit. Approved local walking routes start from about 3km up to around 30km.
Visit the beautiful historic chateau towns of Saumur, Angers, Chinon and Amboise.
The Abbey Royale is just south of Saumur at Fontevraud, the final resting place for some of the Plantagenets including Richard the Lion Heart and Eleanor of Aquitaine.
Futuroscope at Poitiers is a great day out for adults and families with children over 12 years of age, it’s a theme park based upon the history of film, good value too.
Puy du Fuy is just the other side of Cholet and has a medieval theme park, the Falconry display is breathtaking.
This area is really good for walking and cycling; it’s a fairly flat landscape so you don’t have to be super fit. There are lots of official tourist routes from just 3km upwards.
For those who enjoy a round of golf Bauge has a challenging 18 hole course just 10km from us.
